JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

The job responsibilities of this position include:

1. Provide overall direction and guidance as well as day-to-day leadership and management to the D & D Department’s activities with the objective of maximizing company’s growth. .

2. Gather information on local and global Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), for components of all the products. Further, select parts taking into consideration about the Obsolescence, Availability and cost.

3. Liaison with various OEMs for continual improvement and customizations in existing range of company’s products. Technical analysis and verification of competitor’s in all opto – electronic verticals. Establish communication with DRDO Labs, Ordinance Factory, & DGQA etc. for continual improvement and upgradations possible in optoelectronic range of devices.

4. Decision making activities towards analyzing global technology trends and the equipment requirement trend in various RFI/RFP/projects tenders along with the team. Further, verify advisories with justifications from the team and plan in house projects in consultation with top management or initiate process for the purchase/ preparation of a prototype/sample.

5. Collaboration/liaise with DRDO/DGQA/CSIR/SAMEER/ETDC/ Private labs to use their testing facilities pertaining to environmental/EMI/EMC/Optical Parameters including IIT/Thermal detector etc. for all the design & development related activities.

6. Management/Coordination/decision making for planning new projects (including those which can be jointly undertaken with DRDO/CSIR and any other Govt. departments) in consultation with Company’s management and getting them approved wherever feasible from Technology Development Board (TDB) for funding.

7. Explore/Coordinate for business opportunities from Directorate of Indignation at Army/Navy/Air Force. Further coordinate getting technical clearance as a manufacturer from BEL, Ordinance Factory, and DGQA etc.

8. Responsible through his D & D team for undertaking following routine activities.

  • Electronics design of electro-optical devices as per design requirements 
  • 3D modelling & design analysis of components, module and complete device.
  • Generation of applicable design drawings.
  • Fabrication of prototype/finalized electronic assemblies/sub-assemblies/PCBs.
  • Mechanical assembly of complete devices etc.
  • Design new products’ mechanical housing so as to incorporate PCBs, Connectors, Plugs Layout control models and Thermal Core/ Image Intensifier Tubes etc.
  • Modify existing designs to cater to new requirements.
  • Improve production techniques wherever applicable.
  • Determine root cause analysis and testing activities. Manage and scope investigations into form or function of a feature or set of features in a design. Develop test procedures wherever applicable.

9. Maintain design and development documentation about all product developments.

10. Coordinate with concern bodies to get different national 7 International certificates for opto – electronics.

11. Establishment of in-house facility in terms of tools, test of tools, test set ups & machinery for design and up gradation of devices (thermal core, II devices etc.)

12. Responsible for coordination of factory/site acceptance test/ supervision of installation and commissioning of newly procured  thermal, night vision, and optical test equipment for thermal/night vision devices’ testing.

13. Responsible for the commissioning, certification/ validation, and maintenance of clean room to be/ being used by D & D department.

14. Shall be responsible for interaction with various DRDO labs, OEMs, vendors, and defense clients for management and acquisition of Transfer of Technology (ToT) offered.
